Decks, Porches & Outdoor Living
Composite and pressure-treated decks, screened porches and covered patios, framed to the North Carolina deck code and finished to last through Carolina summers.
Suazo Contracting is a deck builder for Raleigh, Knightdale and the rest of Wake County. We build new decks, replace rotted ones, add screened porches and tie it all into the house with proper flashing and ledger connections so the structure stays dry.
Every deck we build follows the current North Carolina residential deck requirements for post sizes, footings, guardrails and stairs. If you have ever watched a neighbor's deck sag, you know why that matters.
Outdoor lighting, ceiling fans on a covered porch and outlets for a grill or hot tub are wired by our own licensed electricians, which is unusual for a deck company and saves you a second contractor. Browse recent decks on our project photos page.

Local Knowledge
Decks over 30 inches off the ground and any attached deck need a permit in Wake County. The NC Office of State Fire Marshal publishes the residential code we build to, and we file the permit with your city or county before the first footing is dug.
Clay soil across Knightdale, Wake Forest and Clayton moves with the seasons, so we set footings below the frost line on properly sized pads instead of on blocks.

In most cases, yes. Attached decks and any deck more than 30 inches above grade need a building permit and inspections. We handle both.
Composite costs more up front and needs almost no maintenance. Pressure-treated wood costs less and needs sealing every couple of years. We build both and will price both.
A standard rear deck takes one to two weeks once the permit is issued. A screened porch takes three to five weeks.
Often, yes, if the existing framing and footings can carry the load. We inspect it first and tell you honestly if it needs to be rebuilt.
Yes. All porch and deck electrical is done by our own licensed electricians as part of the project.
Yes. Our 1-year workmanship warranty covers the construction, and composite manufacturers provide their own warranties on the boards.
